Dina Meyer is an New York native who was brought up in Forest Hills Queens. She moved from Queens to Dix Hills Long Island just after she completed her junior high. There are two of her younger siblings and an older brother. From the age of nine until 16, she began working in the industry of entertainment by modeling. Ron Stetson trained her in the methods of acting taught by Sanford Meisner at The Neighborhood Playhouse. The process took approximately three years. Others who have received this training are Sandra Bullock, Michael Douglas, Jeff Goldblum, Leslie Nielsen, Diane Keaton, among other people. After moving to Los Angeles, she got her first lead role in the Beverly Hills 90210. The first film she appeared in was Johnny Mnemonic. She did every stunt in the movie, and it helped establish her as an athletic as well as an actress. Through her agent who also is the representative of Matt LeBlanc she scored a part as a guest on Friends.
