Berry Gord accepted Stevie Wonder's request for greater freedom and control of his creativity over his entire catalog of songs. Stevie Wonder signed a 13 million dollars MoTown Records contract in 1972. Stevie Wonder was entitled to an increased royalty rate, more creative control, as well as the rights to his songs. This was an unusual chance for artists of the time. The deal allowed Wonder's tracks to discuss controversial topics like war, poverty, drugs, and politics.Stevie is famous for writing and performing political songs such as, You Haven't Done Anything, which was a political attack at Richard Nixon. In 1972 the artist released Music Of My Mind, his debut album under the brand new MoTown agreement. In late 1972 Stevie Wonder released an album that is now regarded as a landmark piece in music,Talking Book. The album featured the most popular hit song, Superstition.
